The theme this week has been about managing the frustrations that come with managing a team. I cannot tell you how many times I have heard complaints from prospective clients about the challenges they have in finding good team members.
One woman I spoke with this week has recently hired her fifth virtual assistant. That means she had issues with four of them. It seems the bigger the team gets, and the longer they are around, the more likely you will encounter some sort of issue that needs to be resolved.
We are human. Even on my own team I have had to resolve issues. Thankfully, I have been fortunate enough to successfully work through problems, create solutions, and build a rock solid team.
I believe what determines our ability to be successful in building a great team largely depends on our leadership. Team management and conflict resolution take practice. Coming from a coaching background, I have learned a few skills that come in super handy when faced with difficult situations.
