Hello!

“I’m convinced that about half of what separates the successful entrepreneurs from the non-successful ones is pure perseverance.” – Steve Jobs

BEING AN ENTREPRENEUR MEANS CONTINUALLY RISING TO THE CHALLENGES IN FRONT OF YOU.

While entrepreneurs and small businesses can face any number of challenges, in our team’s experience, the most common ones are growing your audience, finding repeat or retainer clients, and establishing a sustainable income, so that your “side hustle” becomes (and remains) your main gig.

Sound familiar?

Here at Amazing OBM, we completely get it! Heck, we’ve dealt with the same problems ourselves.

One way to face these common entrepreneurial problems head-on in your marketing efforts is through a business blog.

I know, I know. This coming from the team’s content creator. Of course, I would want you to have a blog!

But, hear me out.

Below are 6 COMPELLING reasons you need to set up (and consistently post to!) a blog to convert more clients for your business.

#1 YOU OWN YOUR BLOG

Blogging may not seem as attractive or sexy as Instagram stories or doing Lives on your Facebook page (although, both of these are amazing ideas as well!), but unlike spending more time (and money) on social media, your website and your blog belong to YOU no matter what.

What if Facebook decides to block your account or Instagram crashes?

What if that’s the day your potential client has the time to actually look through your pitch and click the links in your email?

If you have a current blog, it won’t matter what social media glitches are going on that day because you control your website and your blog content.

# 2 BLOGS DRIVE TRAFFIC

Speaking of potential clients coming to your website, consistent blog posts will also help get them there.

Blog posts drive traffic to your site – which is where you are also most clearly and in-depth promoting your services and products.

When someone performs a Google search, the algorithm favors factors like the optimum number of keywords, the number of pages on your site, how often you update your site (again with the consistent blog posts), and how many times your site is linked (hint: you can always link back to your own site within a post).

Consistent blog posts give Google a reason to point people to your site AND they give these people a reason to continue returning to your site once they’ve found it.

Just make sure to keep adding quality content that gives VALUE to your ideal clients. No fluff!

#3 BLOGGING EXPANDS YOUR REACH

If you publish an INCREDIBLE, value-rich blog post, people will not only read it, but they will SHARE it.

Your blog post can be shared on social media (including yours!) and it can also be pinned on Pinterest.

It’s not likely that your friends or clients will just out and share your website on repeat, but they will share new blog posts. And, when they do, you’ve created an opportunity for someone new to click through and learn more about you and your business offers.

#4 BLOGS BOOST YOUR CREDIBILITY

Do you want to establish yourself as an authority in your zone of genius?

Blog posts are a simple, inexpensive (or free!) way to do just that.

Your blog serves as a powerful reference for the things you know about in your area of expertise. It shows potential customers that you are continuing to learn and share your knowledge with the world. It also allows them a chance to get to know your voice before they even book that initial call with you.

If you’ve ever visited a website with an out-of-date blog (i.e. not a single new post since 2016), you begin to wonder if that person is staying relevant in their field (or if they are even still in business!).

#5 BLOGGING GENERATES SALES (WITHOUT BEING SALES-Y)

It is a common struggle for both product and service-based entrepreneurs to want to convert sales while avoiding being sales-y or coming across as inauthentic to their potential clients.

You may not want to talk to people about making a sale or signing up for your services, but you got into your business for more than money. If you just wanted a paycheck, you probably wouldn’t have jumped on the entrepreneur bandwagon (seriously, there are WAY easier ways to make money).

You started your business because you had a passion! You have something unique to offer the world and your blog is the perfect place to TELL PEOPLE ABOUT IT.

Your blog doesn’t have to be about selling (although it WILL help you do that).

Your blog is a place to offer value and knowledge in a way that feels good to you. Let your personality and passion shine through in your posts!

#6 BLOGGING GIVES YOU AUDIENCE INSIGHT

Struggling to come up with a new service to offer or a new product to create?

Your blog gives you a glimpse into what your ideal clients are interested in and what they want to see more of.

Tracking your blog analytics for stats like page views, comments, shares, and time spent on a particular blog post can help you gauge the popularity of certain subjects and can help you focus on the right things to keep your business growing.

CONSISTENCY IS KEY!

Having a blog is AMAZING for all of the reasons above (and more), but even more important than having a business blog is posting to it consistently

It’s normal to get blocked on what to write or to get busy with other tasks, but if you want your blog to continually drive new (and repeat) traffic to your site and to ultimately convert for your business, you have to give your audience new content on a regular basis.

If you need any help with this fabulous new content, reach out to our team at Amazing OBM! We would love to help you with all of your marketing needs.
