    Hello!

It’s no secret that the AOBM team (and other marketing experts) are huge proponents of having a blog for your business. Blogs grow your audience, drive traffic to your website, and establish you as an authority in your field. But we also believe that having a WordPress blog specifically is the ideal way to maximize your blog’s potential… and minimize your headaches.

If you’ve considered blogging at all, you’ve likely come across WordPress. They’ve been around since 2003. (Around the same time jeans were cut so low that you were afraid to sit down in them). But unlike wearing lowrise jeans, having a WordPress blog is still very much in fashion.

WordPress is currently used by over 1/3 of all websites for their content management. Honestly, some bandwagons are worth jumping on.

Here are 6 reasons having a WordPress blog is best for you and your business.

    1. It is Easy to Use and Manage.

While WordPress.com can now be used to make a variety of sites like business websites, portfolios, eCommerce sites, personal websites, job boards, and more, it was built for blogging. It’s also an open-source project – which means it was developed by a collection of people all bringing their own knowledge and ideas to the table.

This contributes to making it hands down one of the fastest and simplest ways to get a blog published on your website. There’s no need to be a coder to create or post a blog with WordPress.

Blogging – just like all parts of your business – takes up your precious time and resources. So why not remove the headache and use a marketing tool that’s easy to understand and gets the job done well.

    2. You can Incorporate Almost any Type of Media.

WordPress is an easy way to share just about anything you can dream of including in your blog post. This includes, but isn’t limited to…

Specific file types that work on a WordPress blog are .jpg, .png, .gif .pdf, .doc, .docx, .ppt, .pptx, .mp3, .m4a, .mp4, .mov, .wmv, and .avi.

A side note: Make sure that the media you are including is legally yours to use or that you get it from stock image sources that have been approved from commercial use. Some examples include PxHere, Shutterstock, and Pexels

    3. A WordPress Blog Prioritizes SEO.

SEO – or search engine optimization (i.e. the chances that someone’s Google search will lead them to you) is so important when it comes to your blog.

WordPress automatically creates title tags and meta descriptions for each of your blog posts, which inform search engines of your content and will potentially gain you a higher spot in organic searches.

And while WordPress has an excellent built-in SEO feature, you want to boost this even more with additional plugins like Yoast SEO.

    4.  It is Heavily Supported.

Because WordPress is such a well-established and popular program, there are seemingly endless tutorials, chat forums, and YouTube videos on using your WordPress blog.

WordPress itself also has extremely robust support resources and instructions in place for just about any issue you could encounter on their platform, including:

    • Getting Started
    • Installing WordPress
    • Basic Usage
    • Basic Administration
    • Customizing
    • Maintenance
    • Security
    • And More!

    5. Plays Nice with Your Social Media.

Speaking of support, WordPress has always been ahead of the game when it comes to integrating your blog marketing with your social media marketing

Social media – in addition to SEO – can be a key element in helping your blog posts be found by your audience. And WordPress is here to help with that. WordPress has top-notch plugins for social media sharing and profile integration.

You can add your Instagram feed or other social platform activities to your WordPress site so that your blog also drives potential clients to your social media profiles to learn the latest and greatest of what your business is doing in the world.

    6. A WordPress blog is Fully Customizable.

Again, since WordPress is heavily established, there is an incredible number of themes available both through WordPress and from web designers. Themes help your site look uniquely yours and reflect your brand’s colors, fonts, style, and tone. A few popular places to download themes outside of WordPress include:

There are also over 54,000 plugins, apps, and extensions available to customize your blog site in all of the ways that best support your business.

If you need help customizing or creating content for your WordPress blog, the team at Amazing OBM would love to connect. You can start by scheduling a FREE 30-minute consultation. We are happy to chat, offer you some valuable tips, and determine if we are a good fit for one another in future endeavors!
