Hello!

As a digital marketing agency that has helped countless coaches and course creators with their launch, we have written multiple blog posts about what to do – and what not to do – to launch your offer successfully. But what do you do post-launch?

  • How do you determine if your launch is successful?
  • What do you do if it’s not?
  • How can you learn from this launch to make your next one even better?

That’s where these post-launch tasks help our clients.🔽

The 5 post-launch tasks you shouldn’t skip if you want to avoid launch fatigue and learn from your launch.

1. Review your launch goals and metrics

Whether it’s your first launch or your fiftieth, you need to set your launch goals and corresponding metrics to review before you launch. Once your launch is complete, one of the first post-launch tasks is to review these goals and metrics. They will tell you how your launch performed and whether it met your expectations. They will answer questions like:

  • Is your list of potential clients growing?
  • Is your message landing the right way with your ideal audience?
  • Are you experiencing strong open rates with your emails?
  • Is your webinar converting and creating excitement?
  • Are you getting questions from people about your offer?
  • Are people clicking through to your sales page?
  • Do you have any sales?

They will help you take a step back from the emotions of the launch and learn from it.

2. Conduct a post-launch survey

Since you are involved in all aspects of your launch (directly or indirectly), you probably think you know exactly how it went. But the list you launched your offer to may have a different opinion. That’s why sending a post-launch survey to your list is a good idea to learn what you can.

Questions like:

  • What encouraged you to invest in this offer? (only for people who signed up)
  • Why did you decide not to sign up for <offer>?
  • Would you consider signing up for <offer> in the future?
  • How else might I be able to support you to achieve <customer goal in relation to your offer>?
  • What else would you like to know from me?

can help you get valuable feedback about your launch.

These questions help you build trust, eliminate guesswork and assumptions, and improve future launches. They also help you understand your list better and get closer to their objections and pain points. Email marketing and list-building platforms like ActiveCampaign and Convertkit will help make gathering this information easier.

3. Have a post-launch review meeting with your team

Pulling off a highly successful launch is not something you can do without a talented launch team. Whether your team is just you and your VA or OBM, or a group of talented launch experts, designers, and copywriters, it’s a good idea to get together for a post-launch review meeting. In this meeting, you can review the entire launch process and results by answering the following questions:

  • How did this launch go?
  • What were my expectations and goals from the launch?
  • Which of them did we meet? What were the things that went right?
  • What did we miss? What can we do the next time to ensure it doesn’t happen again?

4. Celebrate with something fun

By the time you reach the end of your launch, you will likely be exhausted. And there’s nothing better than a celebratory event to get over launch fatigue. You can:

  • Plan a fun activity for you, your team, and/or your family to celebrate your hard work and results.
  • Schedule dinner and drinks for everyone.
  • Book a weekend getaway or a spa day for some much-needed self-care.
  • Create a celebration playlist.

No matter how you celebrate your launch, be sure to appreciate yourself (and your team) for all the hard work they put into it. Do not skip this step because a launch is a major undertaking, and you deserve to celebrate it regardless of how successful it is.

5. Give yourself a little break

You’ve probably been working on this launch day in and day out. It’s been on your mind as soon as you get up until you go to bed. So it’s natural to want to start serving your new clients immediately and enjoy the labor of love. But don’t.

Take a break instead.

The most important post-launch task is to take some time off between the launch close-cart and the day you begin serving your new clients. Somewhere between four and seven days is ideal.

That way, you are refreshed and ready to provide an amazing experience for your customers when you start serving them.

There you have it. The post-launch tasks that’ll help you learn and grow. Just trust yourself, try to be present for your business and clients, and ask the right questions moving forward.

If you have plans to launch in the near future, Amazing OBM has a full launch team ready to help you strategize, plan and execute your launch. Get in touch. Your audience is just waiting for the transformation you can provide!

I like that post-launch survey bit. The more time I spend with my buyers/market the better. I’d make this something of a modus operandus.

I like the Little Break bit too. Kinda makes the journey easier knowing there’s rest/fun ahead.
