If you’ve ever lived through a launch in your business, you know they are no joke! The stress, overwhelm, and self-doubt are real, and if you’re not careful, you can often sabotage your own success. But, do you have the power to change these things? Can mindset tips actually help?
Thankfully, the answers to these questions are yes and YES!
You may have read all of the mindset hacks the internet has to offer to business owners, but how do you know which ones to apply to your launch strategy?
Never fear, because this week’s blog is bringing them all right to you in one neat package!
Today, we’re talking about the 5 Game-Changing Mindset Tips you need for your next successful launch.
#1 Put your health & sanity first. (This may be the most important of today’s mindset tips!)
Launches are a big deal!
If done properly, you spend months and plenty of man (or woman) power carefully preparing for them. You and your team have a lot invested, so it’s natural to feel like your world is revolving around your next launch.
However, this is the first and biggest mistake I see my clients and other coaches make!
You have to take care of yourself and put your health — physical & mental — above your launch needs. If you’re not sleeping enough, taking time to exercise, checking in on your mental health, or eating well, you won’t be able to show up the way you really want to, and your head won’t be in the right space for everything a launch entails.
It goes back to the whole oxygen mask on the airplane scenario. If you don’t put your mask on first, you won’t be able to help put a mask on anyone else around you.
So, if you want a successful launch, make sure you’re prioritizing YOU first.
#2 Give yourself permission to be emotional and feel all of your feels.
Whether your launch is a huge success and busts through even your biggest goals or your launch completely flops, you are going to have big feelings about it. How could you not after everything you’ve put into it?
You’re also going to have a rollercoaster of emotions along the way to this end result.
Give yourself the permission to ride this rollercoaster and know that every single one of your feelings is valid. This doesn’t mean you have to (or should) make huge decisions because of these emotions, but don’t tell yourself that it’s not okay to feel them. It’s all a part of this entrepreneurial journey and definitely a part of the launch experience!
#3 Make regular reflection, prayer, or meditation a part of your launch process.
Whatever connects you and centers you — whether it’s praying, meditating, journaling, etc. — this ritual needs to be a part of your life during your launch.
Just like you need to care for your physical and mental health during a launch, you also need to make space for the practices that allow you to feel connected to both yourself and to a greater purpose or higher power.
If prayer is important to you, I highly suggest praying specifically for your launch. Likewise, if meditation is important to you, I recommend you make your launch a part of what you meditate on.
Journal about your launch. Write affirmations centered around your launch. Include elements of your launch in your daily list of gratitudes. Do whatever works for you!
And also (and here’s a big key for these mindset tips), make sure you are still doing these sustaining things around other parts of your life as well. Because, again, your launch is big, but you can’t allow it to take over every corner of your life or mind!
#4 Focus on concrete goals, not perfection.
A perfect launch is impossible. Nothing is ever perfect! But a launch where you reach explicit, stated goals is absolutely achievable.
Of all of today’s mindset tips, this one might be my favorite!
Why? Because as business owners, we all too often expect perfection of ourselves, and sometimes we forget to instead narrow down our expectations to things we can actually measure and accomplish bit by bit.
With each launch, you will achieve new goals and new levels, but remember to stay focused on the specific things you want to happen with this launch and be proud of yourself when you accomplish them. No goal is too small to set!
In fact, setting and achieving small goals does wonders for your overall frame of mind and your ability to stay focused on bigger dreams and goals ahead!
#5 Speak to yourself with kindness and remember your worth.
Here’s the truth…sometimes launches fail. Even if they don’t “fail,” you might not always achieve every single one of your goals for that particular launch.
Something will go wrong. You will have a misstep.
When these things happen, treat yourself with kindness. Remind yourself that your worth both as a person and as a business owner does not depend on any one launch’s success.
You are worthy. You are smart. You are important. The work you are doing in the world is valuable…and so are you!
Launching is not always a linear process, and you’re learning as you go. But all learning in your business is important and just helps to set you up for the next success.
Also, remind yourself that you’re not alone in this journey! Someone is always in your corner, and you deserve the same kindness that you’d show to those people and the same kindness you show to the incredible people you serve in your business.
